Audio Leveling

RX Audio Leveling allows the receiving radio to compensate for differing AGC settings and differing (bad) user habits. The result is a consistent audio level on the receiving end.

Note that this is not available on the DM/DP3000 series radios though any users of these radios would gain some benefit, as well as users of any other makes of radios on the channel/system.

In order to enable this feature, you will need to upgrade to R2.7.0; purchase and activate the RX Audio Leveing CfS licence and tick the two (or one of) the tick boxes under Audio Profile.

  1. I'm just seeing 2.6.5 on the MOL website. Guessing 2.7 is coming soon.

  2. This is absolutely crazy. Motorola has gone mad. This is a feature that all radios should have by default and they want to charge a license fee for it. Unbelievable!

    1. In my defense: I had no part in making that decision. If it's any consolation, I believe the license cost for this feature is very low but still...

  3. What is the part number for this license? Thank you.

    1. Thank you.

I ordered it from a dealer two weeks ago and he told me he hasn't received any EIDs from Motorola so far. Is this likely or should I politely push him a little?

    2. I investigated 3 complaints like this in the past. 80-90% of the delay was external to Motorola: Customer places order; Reseller orders license from Distributor; Distributor orders license from Motorola but uses their email address; Motorola processes order (which usually takes 1-2 working days); Distributor gets email; email is forwarded to dealer; Dealer forwards email to customer.

    3. *UPDATE* Motorola has implemented a new IT system that will cut down the cycle time for software licenses down to a few hours.

  4. Hi Wayne,

We have DM4000 series radios operating on a LCP system using firmware 2.4. All radios are about to be reprogrammed with extra channels ready for a system expansion.
Would you think there would be worthwhile benefits in upgrading radios to version 2.7 in this process?

    1. There were some enhancements made to the audio in R2.5 plus the usual bug fixes so overall it would be a good idea if you have the time/manpower to do it.

    1. This is like Microphone AGC but works on the receive audio. It allows the incoming audio to be heard at the same level no matter how loud or soft the other side is speaking.

Yes i think this function can be useful.

  7. The code error is : 38045

The message is : " Unable to contact the license server. Please check your network settings and try again. If you continue to get this message, please contact customer service "

I have just past and copy the entitlement ID.

    1. Try opening any website on the PC.
From the command prompt, try pinging licensing.motorolasolutions.com.
Try temporarily disabling any firewall on your PC or network.
The server was in fact down for a few hours this week and this might have affected you.

  8. Hello,

Before doing this, I wanted to tell you that I forgot to create an account on Motorolasolutions.licensing. I entered my ID entity with login and password and it is now done.

After that, I turned off my firewall windows (Local Area Network and Motototrbo Radio Server) on the PC, but the ID entity is still denied on the CPS

Sorry, in command prompt, what should I do next ?

    Thanks

    Anthony

    1. There is no need to create an account or log in on the website. If you are able to load the page then there is no need to ping it - pinging the server confirms you are able to reach it.

The CPS and firmware version you have are too old: this is most likely the problem. You need to have the latest - see http://cwh050.blogspot.de/p/the-latest-firmware.html - or at least R2.7.0 firmware and 14.0 CPS.

  10. Hello Mister Holmes,

  14. Good morning, Mr. Holmes,

For the AGC-D TX function. Do you think really it's good to activate it ? I find the AGC-D RX more efficient, you can hear the difference.

But when I activate the AGC-D TX, the voice is weak !, on the portables, I am forced to increase the volume almost to the maximum to hear correctly communications.

Some people say that it should not be activated.

I'd like to have your opinion ? Thank you

    Best regards

    1. For fixed installation with little background noise and responsible users, AGC can be disabled.

    2. Hello,

That's my case, I think I'll deactivate the CGA-D TX then.

Can you tell me what are the values in dB of the microphone to enter the mobiles and the portable please ?

      Thanks

      Best regards

  15. I have bought this license for all my handheld radios, and it is awesome! Never want to be "without" again. For analog I turned it off, there was audible pumping that sounded quite bad, but in DMR mode it is fantastic, they really are all almost the same volume.

    2. Now, after some time with this feature I need to add, it appears not to work with the external Bluetooth RSM :( Bug or feature? Have to check how it is with BT headset and conventional "wired" RSM...

  16. When enabling this, is there any baseline audio difference?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Specifically with overall volume. The radios don't appear to be very loud to begin with...

      Delete
    2. There should be no difference in loudness. It might make sense for you to set Environment to Loud (see screenshot above).
Also see the comment made by Ralph Schmid above (7 May 2017).
